Bad road conditions

Kuala Lumpur City Hall today ordered some good samaritans volunteers who took it to themselves to patch up poor roads and potholes to stop doing it's job..

When I read about it, I was very angry, because it brought back memories.. Which.... yes, I was riding pillion one fine night in July 2001 when I was involved in a nasty motorcycle crash on the busy stretch of Jalan Besar in Serdang.. but I lived to tell the tale..

I obtained my bike license when I was 16, the legal age of one getting a bike license in Malaysia.. I got it because my parents thought as a male/boy/man, I could use some knowledge and ride a bike if I need to in the future.. Well thought, well thought parents..

When I got it, my parents then forbade me to ride a bike.. nor did they buy any bike for me to use when I turn 17 or went off to study.. Reason was simple, they were scared I would become a roadkill judging from the high number of fatalities of motorcyclist in the country.. Of course - it's a perfect fear of any parents..

My ex was "piloting" the bike with me riding pillion, as we approached a corner, we somehow hit or skidded or crashed, never knew what happened actually, all I knew is, my life flashed before me as I thought that's it..

My right leg was pinned under the exhaust pipe and I was dragged along with the bike for quite some distance till it hit the kerb and came to a stop by the drain.. The crash could've tore off my my right leg but thankfully it's still intact despite getting my flesh burnt and badly torn on both sides.. Till today I thanked my lucky stars that there was no other vehicles behind us at that time..

I kinda passed out as I have no recollection of what happened after that.. we did manage to get home and our housemates sent us to Putrajaya Hospital accident and emergency department and from there it was a long, agony hell of a wait, behind those who seek treatment for petty sickness..

Few hours later, I was wheeled into the surgery area and my wounds were cleaned and bandaged up.. I must have lost consciousness due to the shock and all - I don't remember a thing here..

The next morning I woke up at home, bedridden, plastered and can't move my leg, and for the next 2-3 weeks I lay like that in bed.. My ex has lesser injuries as he managed to let go of the bike before we went down..

Months later, we revisited the crash site with our housemates to see what actually happened and noted how badly the road was.. It was only in recent years that it was retarred and widened due to the road widening and flyover projects which took place some years back..

After that accident, I never really rode a bike much and I have always developed a very strong fear of riding pillion.. It's okay if I am handling the bike on my own despite getting that very phobia when cornering especially because that's exactly what happened..

Ironically, my car dealer from whom I bought my car from, is also situated at that corner..

I am just thankful to have fully recovered, even the burnt and scarred tissues and flesh are healed properly now, not much showing on my leg now..

So when DBKL snapped at this group of good people for doing good things for the public, I was very angry.. If DBKL can't do their job properly, why are they stopping and forbidding people who can do a better job, and done a better job and presumably cheaper too?

This is the so-called government that cares..

A Kidnapping Solved

Mystery of a kidnapping..

Found myself entangled into a kidnapping drama.. Long story short, the kidnappers called me up to demand for an X amount of ransom to secure for the safe release of my friend.. I immediately went into action and raised the amount in various currencies..

Together with an unknown little girl, we dropped the money off in a rubbish bin (that's so cliche!) and then told to go to this dodgy abandoned parking lot to pick up my friend..

Thankfully, he was released unharmed.. and all was well..

It was just a dream.. and I woke up feeling very uneasy.. but I did not tell my friend who was in the dream.. Neither did I know who the little girl was..

Been losing my sleep over the past few nights.. I so need a good night rest..

10 Old-Fashion Dating Habits That We Should Bring Back

I saw this list somewhere on the net the other day, which I think it's a good one.. Something that we should bring back and practise, because I believe chivalry is not dead..

Come on guys.. sweep your date off the floor.. If you can ask someone out for a date, surely you can be more gentlemanly? LOL...

1. Coming to the door to pick someone up.
In today's world, we text.
"Reaching in 5 mins."
"Here already. Come out."
"Downstairs."

It will be a very sweet thing to do to actually appear at the door and pick your date up. In today's society, there may be several obstructions like security, access bla bla bla that's in the way, so maybe it's understandable why nobody takes the effort to actually come up to the door.. I have a friend who (when he has too much time) will somehow passed 2 security gates to get to my door - I have no idea how he did it..

If only my date will...
Then again, if only there's a date to begin with..

2. Dressing up.
In today's world, we wear whatever we wear at home, tees and shorts.. and flip-flops? guess we're too influenced by the culture down south?
I still take the effort to at least wear jeans+tee, jeans+shirt with shoes..

3. Bringing flowers or tokens of affection on first date.
But I guess it can apply to a gay pair on a first date.. Who's to deny?

4. Going dancing that's not grinding on a grimy club floor.
Dance clubs are the worst places for a date.. 'nuff said.

5. Straightforwardly asking someone out and not calling it "hanging out".
"Yo dude you wanna hang out"
I'll hang you.

Hanging out is for friends.. definitely not for dates..
I will still prefer at least something along the like of "go out", "for a dinner and movie", "date"...

Or... "let's go to the beach" (someone actually used this line on me before - can be even friends, not necessary a date)..

6. Additionally, being clear about when "you're going steady".
Like suddenly, whammm.. "we're together now."
I'll surely give that //since when// look on my face..
Being clear is not about like having a specific calendar date, but more like, out of respect and courtesy to move things one level up..

7. Romantic gestures like writing poems..
Erm - I feel this is too much..
I'll greatly appreciate romantic gestures, maybe cooking.. or going on a short break together once in a while (not necessary every trip)..

8. Turning electronics off and just being with one another.
I can't state this enough.. once he's always on the phone - alarm bells should be ringing, as I have discovered.. At the dinner table especially - it's alright to just check or take a call, but it's not alright to constantly be texting away and smiling at the phone..

9. The general concept of asking permission for things..
Unless your date says, "make yourself at home", have the courtesy to ask before you start venturing around the house and making his house your house.. Even if he says that, ask when you want to get anything from the fridge.. At least I do.. If you stay together, then perhaps you can overlook this rule..

It's called manners.. And my parents did a pretty good job bringing me up to show respect..

It includes asking permission for general things, but in a sensible and reasonable way.. Don't text me and ask if you can go to the toilet at work, I'll roll my eyes..

10. Not assuming sex is to be had at any point of time..
Hmm.. Sex on dates? If it happens, then it happens, who's to say.. but NOT as the main reason... how should I say this.. if you're going out with me just to get into my pants - forget it, I can smell the intention..

I'll like to add on somemore...

11. Paying
Come on.. we're both working adults, we both have incomes and thus money.. do not expect one to pay for the other - it doesn't matter who's asking who out, always be ready to offer to pay for your own meals or at least chip in a reasonable amount even though it doesn't fully cover the bill.. It shows that you respect the other person.. It's not to say being calculative or what, but just so that it can often be misunderstood as taking advantage (bottom taking advantage of top, lesser earner taking advantage of higher earner etc)..

Unless of course you insist beyond all humankind existence.. I won't be like the generations before us where it's ugly to shove money to and fro across the table in full public eyes.. It's embarrassing! Don't the date dare to do that LOL...

12. Holding the door
Just hold the god damn door for anyone - not just your date.. It says a lot about you as a person..

I am a very observant person and I trust my instincts and gut feel more than my heart..

Why PLUBOY.. why!?

Seriously, I could've chosen a better name right?

LOL

But why PLUBOY, if you may ask? Like so cliche, right?

Actually there's a very simple reasoning as to why I chose to use PLUBOY... It's because "I am who I am".

There.. Both should be read in conjunction with each other. Like "I am who I am, PLU boy".. Haha actually it's because back in those days my vocabulary was quite limited, go figure, how young I was then.. So I just picked the first things that came to my mind,..

Started writing blogs and such sometime early 2000s and particularly got really actively writing when I was studying in Singapore, it provided an avenue for me to vent my frustrations mostly over work and school and the discriminatory of nationality practices of the company I was working for at that time..

Thereby writing became more and more of a job because I was making big bucks through Nuffnang (in the early days of Nuffnang, ads were bringing in a lot of moolah for me, and working with Advertlets big time)..

I don't have the header banners of my blogs earlier as they were all in the hard disk of my old laptop that died.. too bad I can't google any also! :(

Just some of the blog header banners that I managed to find..

Did you remember any of them?

What it means to you.

1 Dec is World AIDS Day.

But exactly what it means to you?

As gays, we are all vulnerable to HIV and AIDS, not to say the straight people don't get it, but as men who have sex with men, this is something and should be something very close to our hearts, and keep it in the mind each time you fuck/are fucked. but the more dangerous thing is.. "it can only happen to others".

What is more alarming and scary is that: most people with HIV do not know they have it! And then they pass on to others, and so on and so forth!

I always say, always insist on a condom. If there is no condom, then no sex! Do bear in mind that it is not only penetrative sex that can pass on HIV.. sucking someone (who may have HIV but not knowing or deliberately not telling) if you have ulcer in your mouth is just as bad and put you in high risk as well..

International statistics

UK Map
  • The number of new HIV infections has declined globally by 21% since the estimated peak of the epidemic in 1997
  • 2.3 million people were newly infected with HIV worldwide in 2012
  • In some parts of the world (particularly within Sub-Saharan Africa) between 15-28% of the population are living with HIV

People living with HIV globally

  • 35.3 million people living with HIV worldwide
  • 47% of people living with HIV worldwide are women
  • 1.6 million AIDS-related deaths

New HIV cases around the globe in 2012

  • 2.3 million people diagnosed with HIV
  • 6,300 new HIV infections a day
  • 260 000 new HIV infections among children
  • 95% are in low- and middle-income countries

DID YOU KNOW?

People who are on effective HIV treatment, with an undetectable viral load for least six months can not pass the virus on.

Do something for yourself please this World AIDS Day.. Educate yourself, protect yourself and stay safe, play safe =)

I always insist on that whoever is topping puts a condom, so SHOULD you! There is absolutely no compromise about this.

In memory of those who lost the battle against AIDS and in support of those who are living with HIV, for a better and safer world for all of us to have sex :)
