Pray for Bangkok

I just came back from Bangkok 3 weeks ago, and while I was there, I do make it a point to pay a visit to the Erawan Shrine..

Seeing pictures of the blast literally shook me - together with my buddy,we were waiting for other friends outside the entrance of the shrine in the evening hours probably about 6pm or so, with our BigC groceries.. at the very spot where the bomb was said to be placed at..

Anything could've happened, really.. it was just a collective decision to make the Bangkok trip in July and not anytime later.. We have make contingencies to postpone the trip to August, to October, but lastly we settled for July..

Given a random week and a random day, anything could've happened.. and as pictures started streaming in, I couldn't help but was very disturbed at the magnitude of the blast, especially at where the "entrance" used to be.. where if I were to be in Bangkok, it would be where I may have been......

Have you been to Bangkok's DJ Station?

Definitely not like Marketplace, in fact I don't think MP can ever come as close to DJ Station..

Entrance fee was THB300 with 2 drinks, as compared to MP (last was RM50 with 1 drink or free entry with MP card, now I don't know how much is it as it has been more than 3 years since I last stepped into MP)..

Passport or ID check is a mandatory, so don't forget to bring some form of photo ID that list your date of birth, as they check for underage.

Once inside, you can wander around, that's if if you can even walk around that is, all the 3 floors and on the 3rd level cross over to the other side..

On the Saturday we went, after Babylon, it was packed to the brim.. I went with my buddy, and we managed to get a spot on the dancefloor just at the stage area, when we got there we already missed the earlier drag show..

We had to squeeze our way to the bar to get our drinks, and then proceeded to level 3 where it is only slightly less crowded so that we could drink in peace without anyone knocking into our drinks.. Once we're done, we head back into the dance floor and that's where the alcohol does the talking, moving.. Go bottoms up, I'd say! Haha...

This guy (pic) was dancing on the stage right beside us, with his crotch at our face level.. hmm.. he's not hard (obviously) and probably the best body on the stage.. so at the only chance when he was on his knees, you can guess all hands were on him of course, wanting to feel a piece of those solid abs and chest, only to find a small cock underneath the short shorts..

After about 2 hours of dancing, we called it a night and walked back to the hotel, just 10 minutes down Silom Road..

1. BTS Sala daeng/MRT Silom. It is nearer to the BTS than the MRT.

Truth be told, I've only been to Babylon twice..

The first time I went, I was so bored as the place was so dead and full of angmoh..

Babylon has its famous foam party on the last Saturday of each month.. and it coincide with my holiday last weekend with my buddies..

We have nothing much left to do so we went to watch Ted2 in SFX Cinema in Terminal 21, the only cinema that has plenty of seats..

After our movie, we decided we have a lot of time in the evening before it's even time for DJ Station.. So we looked at each other and nodded "Babylon" it is..

As we were out shopping the whole morning, we didn't have with us swim wear or anything that we can wear for the foam party.. so that left us with no choice but to go into the courtyard area nude..

Not that it was any problem.. Some of the guys went in naked as well..

Entrance fee was THB290, which is still very cheap compared to all other saunas in the region (Aniki Taipei NT$1000 now, 357 Sydney $18 I paid, Cruise Club Singapore - how much now?).. and last Saturday changed my perception of Babylon.. it's a stark contrast between a normal day and a foam party day..

It was packed.. Packed to the brimmed!

Majority are Taiwanese and Koreans and they come in big group of friends.. Yum yum.. angmoh probably made up of a small tiny weeny bit of percentage as Asians ruled the night..

The night started with a luckydraw session - nothing sexual, followed by drag queen lip-sing with dancers in jumper suits.. And it was complimentary free-flow beer all night long, drink as much as you can!

Then once they vacated the courtyard, the foam starts pouring from a huge nozzle suspended from the ceiling in the middle.. It poured and poured on and on.. and throughout the night it kept on pouring..

After dropping our towels and putting them by DJ console near the staircase, we went into the foam area naked..

The foam was quite cold and feeling it within the thighs and lubing up my cock and balls right away, it didn't take me long to get hard and plenty of hands were roaming around.. the foam kept pouring and it was a pile of mountain in the middle while chest high towards the edges so it's pretty convenient to touch around, stroke some cocks, brush cocks on asses..

The whole place is literary a mess thanks to the foam everywhere.. once I found a shower that has no foam on the floor, I quickly showered, and dried up and went to meet my buddy back in the lockers..

We left and got a quick dinner, and went off to DJ Station to continue dancing and clubbing, with clothes of course..

If you are visiting Bangkok on the last weekend of the month, make sure you don't miss out on Babylon's Foam Party..

It's worth going..

It really is..

 How to get to Babylon:
1. The easiest way is to get a taxi/tuk-tuk.
2. If public transport, just take the MRT to Lumphini station, come out from Exit 2 and walk towards Q House Lumphini.. (Fitness First members should know this place)..
3. Turn left at Soi Sathorn 1 alley and walk for about 10 minutes till you see an empty plot of land on your right..
4. Turn right and walk till the very end..
5. Babylon is the last mansion on the left..

Pla Tong Mookata (Pan Fried Pork) - Thai-Western Fusion BBQ

Foodies would know.. Cheap eats in Bangkok has to include the Pla Tong mookata (pan fried pork),.

Do note this place is NON-HALAL!

For dinner, my friends and I came here.. It is located just at Victory Monument BTS.. Most directions available online aren't clear.. Although it's very, very easy to get here, we still got lost, thanks to Google Maps (because searching for this place usually leads you somewhere else), and blogs who gave very contradicting directions (because they can't draw a map), yes that blog..

Pla Tong Mookata is fairly cheap.. At just THB159 per person, it's all-you-can-eat buffet.. Drinks (only have water, beer, EST cola, ice) are charged separately (reasonably).. If you dine alone, it's THB199 as I noticed.. If you waste food, it's another count of THB159 extra..

Staff speak little English as this place is pretty much frequented by locals.. But there's nothing much to order anyway except perhaps drinks.. They will give you a trolley to put your drinks and a chit.. You eat first and pay when you're done..

There's a huge selection of meat such as seafood (frozen in ice/icy water - I can tell you it's really fresh), chicken and pork marinated in different flavours, you can try a little of each and find your favourite..

There's also bread and a few choices of spread (butter, jam etc).. And another row of finger food like sausages, croquettes, fries.. and another row of greens and leafy vegetables..

On another corner there's the make-your-own desserts, from ice-kacang with ice from the ice-box, sweet desserts, and a few kind of fruits such as guava, pineapple, watermelon, melon, etc..

There's no oil to cook with, with the pan, they'll give you hot water for boiling and my suggestion is to pick some pork belly and "wipe" the plate for the lard..

BTS - Victory Monument
1. The easiest way to get here is by using the BTS.. One cannot NOT know how to use the skytrain..  Get off at Victory Monument.. Use Exit 2 and walk down the stairs..
2. On your left is Century The Movie Plaza..

3. In front of you is a T-junction with a corner restaurant with the name "Eat Am Are"..
4. Cross the road, Pla Tong Mookata is just right beside "Eat Am Are"..
You cannot miss it.. It's just 30 seconds walk from the BTS..

1. Type "Pla Tong Pan Fried Pork".. Not any other words..

Taxi/Tuk-tuk:
1. Just say BTS Victory Monument, in Thai, it's actually called Anusawari Chai Samoraphan..
2. Then set your eyes on the Century The Movie Plaza, and follow the directions set out above..
Seriously, taxi? Tuk-tuk? Unless you are staying in this vicinity.. Otherwise, BTS people.. BTS..!!!

Back in the days when AirAsia was a very small airline, in 2001 I still remember, I made my first trip to Bangkok.. That opened up an myriad of international flying.. But that was then..

Only 18 years old, Bangkok excites the gay in me.. Fast forward 14 years and 16 Bangkok trips later, I am still excited over Bangkok, a short trip is always welcomed.. I am not sure if I would want, or even survive a longer stay..

My last Bangkok trip was in Oct 2013, so when my buddies and I decided we should go Bangkok together, I jumped at the thought, and quickly we were making plans and off we went last weekend..

They flew from Singapore while I flew from Kuala Lumpur.. Friends from across the Causeway, divided by the distance but never the friendship..


I bought my flight on Thai Airways on the lowest fare basis - apparently only for online booking - on 24 July and back on 27 July.. TG420 from KL to Bangkok was operated by an Airbus A320 featuring "premium economy" and economy seats..

Only because the A320 is a 3-3 config, the "premium economy" seats functions like a business class seat would, only that the middle of the 3 abreast is kept vacant.. And the passengers enjoy full business class privileges..

No - I didn't fly business.. I booked the cheapest restricted ticket.. Haha.. but with the complimentary seat assignment, I assigned my own seat to be the first economy row, just behind the "premium" seats..

Flight 420 depart KL at 0805am. I was already in KLIA at 5.30am.. But it was delayed a little because the runway was congested..

Landed in Bangok about 9.30am local time.. I straightaway headed out and bought DTAC simcard at THB299 for 7 days with 1.5GB data and hopped on to the public cab right away..

Traffic along the Bangna Tract Road was heavy heading into Bangkok on a very hot and bright Friday morning.. I was sweating in the cab.. The journey took about 1.5 hours and when I arrived at Quad Suites, my friends have already checked-in USING my name ON my behalf.. I was amazed how they did it and how the hotel could allowed that.. But they didn't collect any payment as I was the one responsible to pay as my credit card was held in guarantee..

Quad Suites was our stay for 2 nights - a 2 bedroom serviced apartment just at Chong Nonsi BTS, conveniently located and with some restaurants and a local food court, 7-11 and McDonald's around it, Dean & Deluca opposite it and some others.. Fitness First Sathorn Square is just across the road..

The suite comes with a living room and a fully equipped kitchen, with 2 bathrooms and one of it with a bathtub.. with an occupancy of 4, only 2 key cards were given, and I was not happy the video intercom wasn't working as we tried to unlock the door from the suite.. The intercom kept dialling but in the suite, there was no response..

On the 3rd night, I moved next door to Holiday Inn Express Sathorn.. Always have been delighted by an IHG property, I made the right decision to stay there.. Holiday Inn Express Sathorn is really a gem, fabulous staff so much so I remembered a few names.. Nice cosy room and all the better it comes with breakfast and on the such dirt cheap rate as a privileged travel agent..

I await my return flight Thai Airways Flight 419 to Kuala Lumpur on Monday, also on the same A320.. I took the aisle seat, leaving the middle seat vacant while a hot muscular Thai boy occupies the window seat.. I only managed to snap a photo of him from behind..

Managed to check-in my bags at the very minute before it's closed.
