Day 3: Soi 13in Sauna

Day 3: 22 July

During the day there was nothing much going on except I continue on my shopping and things like that.. In the evening, instead of dinner, I headed off to Soi 13in Sauna..

Soi 13in is located very close to Shuanglian MRT station, less than 5 minutes walk.. If you come to the Y-intersection, you would have gone a little too far!

Soi13in Sauna is really for everyone and of all ages, someone is someone's cup of tea, anytime is tea time..

The place was previously a karaoke, hence that explains all the rooms in the basement, yes, plenty of rooms! There's also a few dark rooms where all the action and crowd is.. each dark room can easily fit like 50 guys! Wooooooooooo!!

Guys here are not shy at all.. in fact I think it's the only sauna where everyone is comfortable being naked and just no one cover up.. It is also compulsory to be naked..

Lockers

Soi 13in is probably one of the cleaner saunas I've been to.. After each guest leave, the staff will disinfect and clean the lockers - there isn't a need to do so, but they do it here.. and the staff periodically will clean the rooms and downstairs cruising area as well as the wet areas (which is where the jacuzzi, steam, sauna, showers are).

As you enter and make your payment, you will be given a small green towel, lube and condom and key to your locker.. The staff will then show you the way to the stairs but they don't bother you when you are undressing, they will just wait at the end of the lockers to usher you..

One floor down is the wet areas and lounge.. There is also a free drinks counter, so help yourself to hot drinks and soft drinks, and the staff will come around to clean and discard the used cups.. There's also 2 hairdryers by the entrance..

The wet area has 3 rows of open showers (pic above), then a small see-through sauna room in the middle, and far left is open shelving.. you can easily lose your own towel regardless which shelf you put.. at the end of the area is the jacuzzi and L-shaped steam room..

One more floor down to the basement, now this was an old karaoke joint which they have converted to become sauna, so that explains the plentiful of rooms.. and dark rooms (which used to be VIP rooms I guess judging from the size)..

That's where most action is.. and that's where my favourite place is...

Day 2: XL Club

Day 2 of my Taipei holiday, Saturday 21 July.

I woke up around noon as it was raining very heavily in the morning, so I decided to just forego my plans to head to the beach and outskirts, and slept in..

Ok so I went in and up.. to the 3rd floor where you take off your shoes and put in plastic bag and carry it into the club..

Upon reaching 4th floor, you will be greeted at the bar where you pay the entrance, and a deposit..

Weekends is NT$250 and NT$100 refundable deposit

You will be given a padlock and key, and a small towel.. Supplies and lube is provided in the lockers area in a large tub, feel free to help yourself..

The Place
I'll start off by giving you a brief idea of the layout.. As you enter, there is the bar counter.. to the right is the lounge, tanning machine and a toilet.. to the left is the lockers..

The upper floor is the sundeck for nude sunbathing, unfortunately since it was raining, the place wasn't open so yeah, I didn't get to check it out on the first visit (second visit was late at night, so again, no sun)

Undress yourself here.. The gym is on the floor below through a narrow staircase at the end of the lockers, although the gym is marked as "clothing optional gym", people here mostly workout in their underwear.. I chose not to get my underwear wet by sweat so I went all naked.. It really is a different feeling to workout naked (not that I've never done so, but it's Taiwan!)

Then we come to the cabins and dark room.. Well not really that dark if you ask me, as lights still can come in from outside, and a few mattress here for you to lie down and chill.. the cabins next to the dark room has glory holes big enough to put your butt through.. Rarely are there actions here in dark room..

Next is the showers, there's 3 open showers here and open shelving to put your towel.. note that you better have your towel marked with something or else it will surely go missing, especially if your towel is dry (you can always exchange for another towel at the counter, one for one)..

Last but not least, the steam room.. not very big, probably 2m x 2m and a curtain in the middle.. but here's where all the actions are.. groping, sucking, kissing, fucking, for all to see..

The gay scene in Penang from a personal perspective

So for the past 7 weeks, I was in Penang the whole time, apart from work, I also go to the gym.. 

I hate to say this, even though Penang has plenty of nice food, I lost 5kg despite I ate a lot, double servings usually or up to 3 servings for dinner..

All in all, as a tourist, Penang is pretty alright, but to work and stay there, I felt Penang is relatively quiet and boring.. everyday I was counting down to the day when I eventually come back to KL..

I came back briefly for a day for the election and flew off in the evening after casting my vote.. In fact I burnt my return flight ticket scheduled for midnight and flew back to Penang on an earlier evening flight..

1. Seventy7 Nagore Square, Jalan Nagor

2. Permata Sports Complex

Situated in Paya Terubong at the edge of Air Itam, this swimming pool features open showers and is always cruisy, especially in the evenings.. In the weekend mornings, it's quiet, but nothing short of cruising activities both in the pool and showers.. Every time I was there, there was always some light action in the showers..

Entrance is RM5 and the swimming pool is a 50m Olympic-sized pool with a one lane of 25m and in another corner, the deep end for diving.. Such a weird combination for a pool..

3. Romeo Sauna, Butterworth

I admit I did come here a few times on the weekends.. Entrance is RM20 (or was it RM25, can't remember cos I always have big notes and didn't check the change).. It's a small community sauna which I kinda prefer rather than big commercialised one.. I kinda like the settings despite some dirty old men (then again, where were they not be at?)

Action happen mostly in the steam room and dark room.. I don't understand why there is a platform in the dark room, a mis-step for a newbie and you can kick it and hurt your shin badly! 

It has a small open shower area with just 2 shower heads, but closed off from the outside with a curtain and frosted glass.. I also noticed some drinks and snacks near the entrance but I never bothered with it..

I admit the place wasn't easy to find at all! But once you know where is it, you can't help but notice how easily and convenient it is to get there.. I am pretty sure there's a reason why they chose to be low-profile and kept their location a hush-hush thing, so if you want to know where is it exactly, just let me know.. 

One hint, it's just 1 minute from Juru Autocity and 5 minutes away from the Penang Bridge.. 

4. 1st Avenue toilet

Now this is one toilet that is wayyyyyyyy too busy to cruise.. It's the one that's outside Oppo, same level as the bridge to Komtar and Prangin..  I don't know why it makes the list..I went in to check to see how cruisy it is, but no.. too crowded all the time.. 

I go to 1st Avenue because of Texas Chicken on the LG floor!! 

5. Ground Floor toilet North Zone beside Padini, Queensbay Mall

Again, this toilet is way too busy with plenty of people in and out.. I mean, I do notice some eyes and people who stay longer than necessary in the toilet at the sinks but I just dismissed it off.. just way too busy.. 

6. Peepholes, cinema toilet Queensbay Mall

Now this is what I call a proper cruise toilet.. peepholes in each cubicle on both sides of the wall! People know, cos it's obvious but I guess nobody cares.. 

There are others like Padang Brown, Udini Square, Redwall, Moongate etc but as I did not specifically check them out, I cannot say for sure..
